St. Luke believes in changing lives. Therefore, we support a variety of ministries which work to that end.
We support the work of Sacred Journey Hospice in McDonough. Our pastor serves as a Chaplain Assistant and a number of our church family volunteer in various capacities. Learn more about Sacred Journey at www.sacredjourneyhospice.com.
We support the ELCA World Hunger Appeal. Every month that has a "Fifth Sunday" we take up a second offering above and beyond our regular offerings which supports this outstanding ministry of alleviating hunger and establishing justice in all the earth. Learn more about this ministry at www.elca.org/hunger.
We work in partnership with Lutheran Services of Georgia (LSG), taking collections to furnish apartments for new refugee families. We also walk annually in the Hunger Walk/Run which supports LSG and the Atlanta Community Food Bank. More information about these ministries is available at www.lsga.org and www.acfb.org.
The people of St. Luke support those who take a stand against domestic violence. To that end, we provide in-kind donations to Securus House in Jonesboro (Clayton County) and Haven House in McDonough (Henry County). More information about domestic violence and ways to receive assistance or volunteer are available at www.henryhavenhouse.org.
There are those among us who support the ministry of Lutheran World Relief by making quilts, which are distributed to persons in need around the world. Learn more about the quilting project, fairly traded coffee and chocolate and the many other facets of this ministry at www.lwr.org.
We also support the work of Hands of Hope Clinic, which provides medical care to those without benefit of health insurance, and we are currently in discussion with them about the possibility of hosting their permanent home on our Dailey Mill Road property. More information about their services is available at www.handsofhopeclinic.org.
