Ministry
MINISTRY: LOVING OUR NEIGHBORS AS OURSELVES
Our primary ministry focus is to be presence for those in need both inside and outside of our church family. Ministry takes many forms, but our primary focus is working to provide material assistance to those in need.
- St. Luke runs a modest food pantry that stocks primarily canned goods and personal hygiene items. This is open to the public as needed.
- On 5th Sundays, St. Luke provides lunch to the teen residents at A Friend's House.
- Every year at Thanksgiving, St. Luke puts together food boxes for local families who are in need. Everyone gets a Thanksgiving Day meal, but enough food is provided to last a week or more.
- Every year at Christmas, St. Luke works with Samaritan's Purse on Operation Christmas Child in order to provide gifts to needy children in developing nations. Gifts such as small toys, hard candies, school supplies and hygiene are packed into shoe boxes for shipping.
- St. Luke has a Teddy Bear ministry that makes small stuffed bears and distrbutes them to local law enforcement, health care and social service agencies to give to children who find themselves in crisis situations.
- On 2nd Saturdays of each month, members of St. Luke go to Dream Catcher in the Woods assisted living center to provide music and fellowship for the residents.
